About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced French Speaking Legal Assistant (Client Care Leader) to join our busy and collaborative Private Client team in Bishop's Stortford.

We require excellent spoken and written commercial French for this role. Your role will support the practice area to provide a quality, tailored and supportive legal service to our clients on Wills, Trust, Tax and Probate matters.

This role is ideal for someone who can bring a strong organisational ability to support a wide range of legal and operational activities. In this varied position, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the team by providing high-quality administrative support. You will work closely with internal legal advisers, clients, and colleagues across the wider business.

What this role would include

  • Providing exceptional day-to-day and proactive administrative support to the legal team.
  • Assisting with new enquiries, file opening, file management and general office coordination.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Corresponding with other institutions such as agents and banks in France to advance matters.
  • Supporting process improvement and contribute to developing team capability.
  • Adapting to changing priorities whilst maintaining excellent customer care.

  • Significant administrative experience supporting busy teams.
  • Ability to work in a planned, proactive and organised way, maintaining high attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
  • Experience within a legal environment is helpful, but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn and build effective relationships with managers, colleagues and clients.
