About the role

We are looking for a capable and ambitious Paralegal to join our Litigation & Dispute Management team in Birmingham on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role offers the opportunity to work with a high profile client, supporting senior lawyers in delivering exceptional service across a range of litigation matters.

Our Team Our Financial Services Disputes and Investigations (FSDI) group advises clients in various key areas of work in the financial services sector – including financial services litigation, contentious regulatory work, pensions litigation, and corporate crime and investigations (including fraud, anti-money laundering, financial sanctions, bribery and corruption and other aspects of corporate crime). The team works collaboratively across the UK and internationally, combining technical excellence with innovative solutions. The team prides itself on being approachable and committed to developing talent within the team.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be involved in one or more of our specialist workstreams, namely motor finance litigation or retail banking disputes.

Typical responsibilities will include but are not limited to

Assist with case preparation, including drafting correspondence, compiling bundles, managing disclosure and filing of procedural court documents Conduct legal research and summarise findings for use in litigation matters Liaise with Courts, clients, Counsel and third parties to progress matters efficiently Maintain accurate records of court deadlines and ensure compliance with procedural deadlines Prepare Court document and assist with filing/submission Provide administrative support, including billing and matter management Maintain compliance with internal risks and conflicts. Assist with maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures and templates as processes evolve. Support data capture for reporting on claim volumes, outcomes and trends.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for

Previous experience as a Paralegal in a disputes or litigation team or other relevant work experience Demonstrable understanding of court procedures and deadlines and the ability to progress multiple matters concurrently Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing A collaborative and proactive approach and willingness to learn Exceptional focus on detail and quality
